This week I’m trying out this rather cool new plugin (14 day fully functional trial ) by the British plugin company Sonnox. They have just released a plugin which allows for real time testing and encoding music from your DAW to the popular formats out there such as MP3, AAC, AAC losless and more. I got the demo version (which you could get too right here) and after a quick and easy installation (using my new shiny ilok) I placed the plugin on my master fader in Pro Tools 10.

The cool thing about this is that you can instantly listen to different versions of your session in real time. So you could prepare your mix better for the kids who would anyway listen to it on their crappy headphones in mp3 format. The visual aid is extremely helpful and the plugin is light and easy to use. This is a breakthrough product as this type of plugin was never before available and is a necessary tool in today’ music production world. The only problem is it would set you back £295 if you choose to buy this one….pricy.
