Recently, I had the fantastic opportunity to share my story with Plastic magazine UK. The experience was a journey through my musical evolution, culminating in my latest single, “Caravan Cooking.”

I’d like to share some highlights and insights that could spark your curiosity.

From my early days fumbling with piano keys to discovering my true calling with a guitar, my musical evolution has been a blend of learning, unlearning, and relearning. Influenced by my musical heroes, Joe Pass and Wes Montgomery, and later inspired by the electronic nuances of Bonobo and Gorillaz, my style has been a canvas of varied musical influences.

Perhaps the most vivid expression of this journey is my latest single, “Caravan Cooking.” This track is a labor of love and collaboration, born from a unique synergy with Grammy-nominated producer Kosine. It’s a confluence of Middle Eastern melodies and modern beats – a true representation of my ongoing exploration in sound.

Creative process

The process of creating “Caravan Cooking” was about weaving together different cultures, something I’ve been passionate about throughout my career. This passion is also reflected in my love for the vibrant Tel Aviv indie scene, a melting pot of east and west, traditional and modern.

Looking back at the interview, I realized how much of my personal story is embedded in my music. From the proud moments with my band Coolooloosh at the Montreal Jazz Festival to the introspective hours spent in my studio, every experience has shaped my sound.

I often think about the perfect setting for my music, and I’ve come to believe that it’s not about the place but the moment. When someone’s day is brightened by my track, that’s the perfect setting for me.

2024 commitment

As I look towards 2024, I’m excited and humbled by the prospect of releasing a new song every month. It’s a commitment not just to my craft but to my listeners, who have been my constant support.

This interview was a moment of introspection. It made me realize that I’ve been through quite a lot on my journey, but now I feel confident enough to just let it out into the world and try to reach people that I believe would enjoy and get something out of my music.

So, as you read this, I invite you to join me on this continuing adventure. Each new track will be a piece of my story, a part of my journey, shared with you.
